Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" has grossed Rs 156 crore at the worldwide box office in 21 days.
Released on 2500 screens around the world on 7 August, "Srimanthudu" opened to a wonderful response. The movie grossed Rs 101 crore at the worldwide box office in its first week. Having lost out large number screens to new releases in the second week, the movie collected Rs 37 crore gross globally.
In its third week, "Srimanthudu" gave away some screens to Ravi Teja's "Kick 2", Abhishek Bachchan's "All is Well" and few other new releases. With these news films getting positive responses, the Mahesh Babu starrer became second choice for many film goers.
When compared to its second week business, "Srimanthudu" witnessed more than 50% decline in its collection in the third week. The movie raked in about Rs 18 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its third week, taking its 21-day global gross collection to Rs 156 crore gross.
"Srimanthudu" has collected Rs 125 crore nett at the worldwide box office in three weeks. The share of distributors share is estimated at Rs 96 crore.
In its third week, "Srimanthudu" has beaten the lifetime gross total collection record of Rajinikanth's "Shivaji" and "Lingaa" and Ram Charan's "Magadheera". The Koratala Siva-directed film has become the fourth all-time South Indian grosser. With its collection going down considerably, the movie will not be able to beat the record of Shankar's "I", which is the third all-time grosser.
