February 24 was a dark day in Bollywood as the news of Sridevi's death left the entire film industry, her family and legions of fans in a state of shock. According to the Dubai Police, Sridevi died due to accidental drowning in a bathtub. However, many people still have their doubts regarding the cause of her death under mysterious circumstances at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai.

On Sridevi's 55th birth anniversary on Monday, August 13, people across India have been remembering the legendary actress through her iconic songs, blockbuster movies and her rare, unseen photos as a tribute. However, fans who are yet to buy the theory of her accidental death, have been saying that finding the actress' killer would be akin to a real tribute.

"Funny that Such A Huge Star passed away and all we had was a Hushed up death investigation... Always been A huge huge Fan of her.... RIP Sridevi (We Will Always Miss You), [sic]" a die-hard Sridevi wrote on Twitter.

"Remembrances are pouring in, that's fine. The real tribute would have been finding the KILLER. I don't buy the theory of accidental death," another fan commented.

The Supreme court on May 11 had rejected the plea filed by the petitioner Sunil Singh seeking probe into the death of the veteran actress. Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra told the petitioner, "We can't interfere with the probe" even as senior counsel Vikas Singh raised questions on how could a 5'7 feet tall person drown in a 5'1 foot bathtub.

After the apex court rejected further probe into Sridevi's death, Ved Bhushan, a retired ACP of Delhi Police, who runs a private investigation agency, came up with an opinion that Sridevi's death looked like a 'planned murder' and cannot be labelled as 'accidental drowning'.

Bhushan had visited the Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai to probe the incident but wasn't allowed to enter the hotel room where Sridevi had stayed and breathed her last. Hence, he recreated the entire scene in an adjacent room and came to the conclusion that there's some mystery behind it.

The retired ACP of Delhi Police, who is still investigating the case, strongly believes that Sridevi's death is a probable murder. He said the case required high-level investigation.
