Consumers' are increasingly demanding high-end specs in smartphones and tablets and Sony might just be getting it right. Amid reports of Xperia Z4 smartphone and Z4 tablet, there is a new device in the works that is sure to grab some attention. According to a leaked report by Chinese website PadNews, the Ultra version of the Xperia Z4 Tablet is said to be the most powerful tablet ever. At the same time, the rumoured specs are questionable as they seem too good to be true.

If the rumour is to be believed, Sony's Z4 Tablet Ultra will feature a humongous 12.97-inch display with eye-popping 3840 x 2400 pixel resolution. This translates to a 4K Ultra HD screen with 16:10 ratio, which will be the first of its kind in the tablet space. But the overrated specs do not end here, as PadNews speculates the tablet to sport 6GB RAM and a powerful 12,100mAh battery.

Even the highest-end smartphones and tablets are trending with 3GB RAM and the 6GB RAM in the Xperia Z4 Tablet Ultra seems over the top. Other specs might include a 2.86GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 64GB internal storage.

The Chinese site did not reveal many details on the camera front, as it is one of Sony's biggest strengths, but said the imaging sensor will be Exmor CMOS with a protective lens covering from Carl Zeiss, GSM Arena reports. It is expected Sony will feature its signature build for the tablet with water and dust resistance ratings.

There is an image accompanying the specs leaked by PadNews and shows the tablet in a portrait orientation, which may not be too comfortable to use and hold. It shows a front facing camera besides the company's logo and thin bezels to fit in the monster screen.

As exciting as the specs sound, it is better not to get one's hopes too high. Luckily, we won't have to wait too long for confirmation as Sony is expected to pull out this monster at the CES 2015, where it is expected to unveil a host of new Xperia lineup. At the latest, if the device actually exists, Sony will launch it at the MWC 2015 in March.
