Sony's recently-unveiled camera-centric Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra hit stores just a few days ago in only a handful of markets and before they are made available in other regions, the Japanese company announced to launch another smartphone of the same pro-camera genre next week.

Early this month, Sony Italy had confirmed that the company will host a pre-IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) 2015 press-briefing on 2 September, but nobody knew about the significance of the event.

Now, its sister firm Sony Mobile GB (Great Britain) has teased a new smartphone with iconic Brandenburg gate on Twitter, with Germany in the backdrop, thus, confirming that the company will showcase a new camera-centric device at the upcoming globally acclaimed consumer electronics fair in Germany.

Will Xperia Z5 Make its Debut at IFA 2015?
Though there is no official word on what smartphone Sony will unveil on 2 September. With the new Xperia M5 and C5 Ultra filling the slots in upper mid-range and mid-range in the company's device portfolio, many believe that the Japanese firm might pull the wraps off the rumoured Xperia Z5 series flagship smartphone.

Although some may expect it to be a budget camera-centric phone, it is not likely to be that as Sony or any other OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) will go for a smaller and less grand place to launch an entry-level phone.

The companies usually choose prestigious events like IFA, MWC (Mobile World Congress), CES (Consumer Electronics Show) to unveil high-end devices.

Sony Xperia Z5 is expected to boast a 5.5-inch screen with fingerprint sensor and house new v2.1 Snapdragon 810 series Octa-core, 21.5mp camera with Sony's new proprietary IMX230 sensor and 8mp snapper on the front.

Speculations are rife that Sony is also planning to launch a smaller flagship device dubbed as Xperia Z5 Compact. It is said to feature the same hardware as seen its bigger sibling, except the screen-size.
