Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha's "Tevar" has been making headlines for quite a while. Produced by Arjun's father Boney Kapoor, "Tevar" is scheduled to release on 9 January 2015.

Set in Uttar Pradesh, the film revolves around the life of Pintu (Arjun) and Radhika (Sonakshi), who are being chased by the baddie, played by Manoj Bajpayee. The couple's adventures and on-the-run love story form the crux of the film.

"Tevar" is a remake of Telugu blockbuster "Okkadu", starring Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika.

The makers of the upcoming Bollywood masala film recently released the "Radha Nachegi" song, which features Sonakshi and has received more than 1.5 lakh hits on YouTube.

Reportedly, the total cost of the song alone is nearly ₹2.5 crore, and Sonakshi's costume cost the producer a whopping ₹75 lakh.

The song, composed by Sajid-Wajid, was choreographed by Romeo D'Zouza. The producer claims that the actress will make at least ₹25 crore dancing to the song in live concerts.

However, this is not the first time Bollywood has spent a lavish amount on the costumes of the actors.

Kareena in "Kambakkht Ishq"

Kareena Kapoor Khan had revealed that her black stunning sequined dress in "Kambakkht Ishq" (2009) title song, designed by Aki Narula and brought from Emporio Armani in Paris, was worth ₹8 million. World-renowned designers Stella Macartney and Roberto Cavalli have also designed the actress' dresses for this movie.

Madhuri Dixit in "Devdas"

For the movie "Devdas" (2002), Madhuri Dixit wore amazing outfits designed by Neeta Lulla, Reza Sharifi, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Each of her costumes, worth ₹15 lakh each, had gorgeous embroidery works, expensive fabrics and precious stones.

For a New Year performance in Mumbai, actress Mallika Sherawat wore a single nude jumpsuit with diamond studded bikini top, for which she faced a lot of criticism.

Aishwarya Rai's costumes, designed by Neeta Lulla in the epic romance "Jodha Akbar" (2008), had heavy embroidery and bead work with precious and semi-precious stones in order to portray a reel-life queen. Each of her attires cost around ₹2 lakh.

Meanwhile, Hrithik also wore traditional Indian sherwanis with embroidery, brocade, zardosi, traditional motifs, studded with precious stones in the Ashutosh Gowariker directorial.

Shah Rukh in "Ra.One"

Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan's superhero rubber suits in "Ra. One" (2011) cost a million dollar, almost ₹4.5 crore per costume, and there were 20 such attires.

Salman in "Veer"

For the period drama "Veer" (2010), Salman Khan wore six specially designed armours, which cost nearly ₹20 lakh each.

Last, but not the least, superstar Rajinikanth's costumes, designed by Manish Malhotra and Mary. E. Vogt in the film "Robot", directed by Shankar, is said to have cost more than ₹3 crore.
