Kolkata court extends judicial custody of 11 accused in Burdwan blast case

Kolkata, Feb 01 (ANI): Kolkata court extended the judicial custody of 11 people including two women, accused in 2014 Burdwan blast, till February 13. Two operatives of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh were killed in an explosion while preparing homemade bombs in Burdwan district of West Bengal in October last year. The counsel of National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing the blast, Shyamal Ghosh said that a bail application has been filed by one of the accused. He added that a petition was also filed by the accused seeking return of items seized from them, a plea that was rejected by the court. Feb 1, 2015

MiG-21 fighter aircraft crashes in Gujarat

Jamnagar, Feb 01 (ANI): A MiG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Gujarat. An eyewitness, Mahavir said that the crash was result of an explosion. The pilot managed to eject safely with the help of parachute, say villagers. The Enforcement Directorate too had reportedly questioned Singh in Delhi earlier. Spokesperson of CBI, Kanchan Prasad said Singh has been booked under the charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy. On Friday, CBI had questioned a powerful aide of West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mukul Roy. Roy had so far avoided appearing before the CBI since he was summoned on January 12.
