The box office collection of Akshay Kumar's "Singh Is Bliing" dropped approximately 30 percent on its second day (Saturday).

The 30 percent drop from the first day (Friday) is normal as it was released on a Gandhi Jayanti holiday. "Singh Is Bliing" minted approximately Rs 14.50 crore on Saturday, taking its 2-day total to Rs 35.17 crore.

"#SinghIsBliing Fri 20.67 cr, Sat 14.50 cr. Total: ₹ 35.17 cr. India biz... Biz should escalate on Sunday," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The business is expected to grow on Sunday due to the holiday. "Singh Is Bliing" will have a good opening weekend box office collection of Rs 50 crore if Sunday's earning is more than Rs 15 crore.

"Singh Is Bliing" received negative reviews, but despite that, it fared well on Friday due to Gandhi Jayanti holiday. The film recorded the second biggest opening of 2015 and highest for Akshay Kumar.

The comedy entertainer directed by Prabhudeva will enjoy its weekend run, but the film will need to survive at the box office on a good note during weekdays.

Meanwhile, "Singh Is Bliing" has opened on a good note at the overseas box office. From Thursday and Friday's run at the overseas box office, "Singh Is Bliing" minted Rs 6.52 crore ($1 million).

"#SinghIsBliing Fri 20.67 cr, Sat 14.50 cr. Total: ₹ 35.17 cr. India biz... Biz should escalate on Sunday," Adarsh tweeted.

Directed by Prabhudeva, the film features ensemble cast, including Akshay, Amy Jackson, Kay Kay Menon, Lara Datta, Pradeep Rawat, Anil Mange, Rati Agnihotri, Yograj Singh and Kunal Kapoor among others.
