Ranveer Singh is back on the silver screen and how. After his impressive portrayals of Maratha warrior Bajirao and Mughal emperor Alauddin Khilji, Ranveer has now stepped into the shoes of a police officer named Simmba, an orphan from Shivgadh.

The 2-minutes-54-seconds trailer begins with Singham (played by Ajay Devgn) introducing Simmba and how he was raised as an orphan who desired to become a police officer but a corrupt one. Singham tells us what was happening on the sidelines of Shivgadh when he was busy maintaining law and order in the society.

Unlike Singham, Simmba believes that becoming a corrupt officer is an ideal way to live life and gets involved in helping goons in crimes in exchange of hefty money. But a tragedy forces him to transform himself from being an immoral and unethical police officer to an honest cop following the righteous path by turning his back on the bad guys.

Ranveer Singh as Simmba looks very impressive and his flamboyance adds up to his image of both a corrupt and a fearless cop. Carrying his exuberance all way long, he exhibits right emotions at the right time and doesn't overdo a bit. Considering how he has evolved as an actor in the past few years, Ranveer gets everything right from the very first frame. It's an out and out Ranveer Singh show throughout the trailer.

Though the debutante Sara Ali Khan, daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, doesn't have much to do apart from mouthing a couple of dialogues, she looks Bollywood ready and will surely steal audience's hearts with her presence. It will be interesting to see if Sara will manage to impress moviegoers with her acting skills in theatres.

Sonu Sood aces his negative role of a local don who is responsible for the crimes happening in the city. He manages to put himself up as a strong force who can give Simmba a run for money. His portrayal will surely make audience root for him and one can expect some larger than life fight sequences between Sonu and Ranveer on the big screen.

Marathi actor Siddhartha Jadhav, who plays a police officer working under Simmba, makes his presence felt with his sheer acting talent and we look forward to see him doing more action and delivering some whistle-worthy dialogues on screen.

The surprise package in the trailer is undoubtedly Ajay Devgn who makes a grand signature entry of stepping out of his speeding SUV to help Simmba fight the goons.

Director Rohit Shetty brings back the flavour of his high-flying action sequences, candid close-up and wide shots and utilising the entire set-up and his actors to their best. He surely has a winner in his hands and we hope that it manages to strike the chord with the audience when it will release in theatres on December 28. It will surely turn out to be a big Christmas treat to moviegoers craving for an action-packed masala entertainer.

Simmba is an official remake of Jr NTR starrer 2015 Telugu film Temper, directed by Puri Jagannadh.
