The nomination lists for the sixth edition of South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) are out to honour the best talents in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies released in 2016.

Among the Malayalam movies in 2016, Fahadh Faasil's family entertainer Maheshinte Prathikaram leads with 11 nods followed by Nivin Pauly's realistic entertainer Action Hero Biju with eight. Other Malayalam movies with six or more nominations include Dulquer Salmaan's Kammatipaadam (6), Mohanlal's Oppam (6), Pulimurugan (6), which are also considered for the Best Film award category.
In the Best Actor category, the competition is between Fahadh (Maheshinte Prathikaram), Nivin (Action Hero Biju), Dulquer (Kammatipaadam), Biju Menon (Anuraga Karikkinvellam) and Mohanlal (Pulimurugan). Meanwhile, Nayanthara (Puthiya Niyamam), Manju Warrier (Vettah), Sai Pallavi (Kali), Vedhika (James & Alice) and Asha Sarath (Anuraga Karikkinvellam) compete for the Best Actress award.
The star-studded event to honour the best of Telugu and Kannada movies will be held from 7 pm onwards on June 30, while the award ceremony for Malayalam and Tamil films is scheduled on July 1. Both events will be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
