Liquor baron Vijay Mallya's son Sidharth Mallya, after hosting his own chat show, "#SidSessions", will now make his big screen debut.

According to a Times of India report, Kolkata-based director Q of "Tasher Desh" fame will direct the stylish celebrity's maiden attempt at acting. Dealing with the quizzers of the 80s, the film will be produced by Steve Barron and will feature four other fresh faces.

"Being an independent content focused film, it's not too massive a production and has both a British and an Indian team working on it, since a large chunk of it will be shot in Bangalore," Bollywood Hungama quoted a close source as saying.

However, a year ago he had different ideas about acting. He reportedly said that opportunities came his way from Bollywood but he hasn't had the time to consider them. The dishy Mallya scion usually hosts a popular calendar girl hunt contest.

Set to go on floors early next year, this film is essentially a teen comedy and Sid has been cast in a pivotal role. Only two short films old – "Flashback" and "Open House on Beverly" – this suave celeb unfortunately has been on media's radar for inappropriate reasons mostly.

After being heavily critiqued for discussing his sexual orientation on his chat show wherein he takes funniest of queries from his Twitter, Instagram and Facebook account and answers them using witty-comebacks, the actor went a step ahead and confessed that he was in a relationship with Deepika Padukone.

"Contrary to popular belief, I am straight as an arrow. I know you guys are convinced that I am gay, but I assure you that I am not," he said in the three-and-a-half minute video.

Known for his inimitable charm and wit, Mallya quipped saying because he is always so well-dressed and has a sharp jaw line people often mistake him as gay.
