Malayalam cinema lovers can now wait for a movie which will have the best actresses from the industry. The film is none other than Aashiq Abu's upcoming movie "Rani Padmini" which will star Manju Warrier and Rima Kallingal in lead roles. The rumours about the film have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and the latest buzz is that the makers of the movie are set to kick-start its shooting next year.

"Rani Padmini" is touted as a women-centric film which revolves around the life of two women who are on a long journey to Himachal Pradesh from Kochi through Delhi. Though they are travelling to the same place, their intention and purpose for the journey is different. The makers say that the film can be included in the genres of a thriller and travelogue.

"The film does not have anyone who can be called as the hero but it is about two women, their life and experiences. We have lots of films which can be categorised as multi-starrer films with male leads but do not have much of female-oriented multi-starrer films and my latest film is one such experiment with female leads," said Aashiq Abu to Manorama Online.

Meanwhile, the lead actress of the film Rima Kallingal is quite excited about her upcoming project and shared on her Facebook page that the film is going to be an experience in itself.

Earlier, it was reported that Rima will star in "Oppana" directed by Aashiq but it looks like the team has dropped the idea for the time being and will go ahead with "Rani Padmini". Aashiq had earlier worked with his wife Rima for the film "22 Female Kottayam". The film enhanced Rima's reputation as an actress and won almost all the awards of the year - Best Actress including Asiavision Movie Awards, Filmfare Awards, Kerala State Film Awards, SIIMA Awards (Critics) and Vanitha Awards.

Meanwhile, Manju had recently inaugurated Rima's dream project "Mamangam', a dance school, and the audience is now expecting their new association with "Rani Padmini" to be a landmark achievement in Malayalam cinema.
