After creating several box office records, Shah Rukh Khan is now set to make new record with the trailer of his much-awaited film "Happy New Year".

According to the buzz, the film promo of "Happy New Year" is set to be Bollywood's longest trailer released till date. Apparently, SRK wants to show the scale of the film and for that he wants the trailer to be long, DNA reported.

"Shah Rukh was against cutting a short promo for HNY. He was of the opinion that the audience should be able to gauge the massive canvas of the film and enjoy the rich production values. Hence he asked his editor to cut a promo that is lengthy and shows every aspect of the film," a source close to the project told DNA.

A trailer is released much before the film only to give audience a gist about the movie or to attract moviegoers. The makers try to show exciting, funny and noteworthy parts of the film without revealing the spoilers in that trailer, and for that they keep the promo short.

But SRK wants to keep the trailer long so that he can show the important parts of the film prominently. In the recent times, the trailer of Akshay Kumar's two films "Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" and "Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara" had crossed the three minute length.

If the trailer of "Happy New Year" is of more than three minute, it will beat Kumar's record.

"Usually a film promo length varies from anywhere between 2.30 to 2.45 minutes. For Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara! the length was three minutes-plus. I am not sure if the Happy New Year promo is that long," Vajir Singh, editor of Box Office India, told DNA.

The trailer of Farah Khan's directorial film "Happy New Year" will release in theaters on 15 August along with Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns".

The film, which is produced under Red Chillies Entertainment banner, will release worldwide in October. Apart from SRK, the film also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sarah Jane Dias, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah, Sonu Sood and Jackie Shroff in important roles.
