Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 51st birthday at his beach house in Alibaug, a few kilometres away from Mumbai. It was, like always, a star-studded event attended by some of his closest friends. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were on the guest list too, but the couple gave it a miss.

News such as these would raise eyebrows, leading to speculations if all is well between Khan, Singh and Padukone. But this time, it was work and love over party. Singh has begun Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati and Padukone wanted to be by his side while he takes up one of the most challenging roles of his career so far, SpotboyE reported.

Due to outdoor schedules, the much-in-love couple hasn't been able to spend much time together lately. By the time Padukone returned to India after wrapping up her maiden Hollywood project XXX: Return of Xander Cage, Singh was in Paris shooting for Aditya Chopra's Befikre alongside Vaani Kapoor.

Therefore, instead of attending Khan's birthday bash, they decided to give each other company in Singh's Bandra (Mumbai) residence. Padukone did not wish to spend her free time away from her beau.

This report will hopefully put a lid on all the speculations around their relationship. For a while now, there have been rumours that the pair has parted ways and ego issues are to blame.

However, both Padukone and Singh have been mature about the gossip around their relationship. In separate interviews, they have said that there's a flipside to every profession adding that they have been in the movie business long enough to not let such rumours affect them.

"Certain things are a given when you are in this industry. I am sure there are certain advantages and disadvantages of being in this industry. And this is one of the things one has to deal with, and that's totally fine. The ups, the positives, and the love we get is way too much for us to get bogged down by the speculations or the negativity," BollywoodLife quote Padukone as saying.
