Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan are set to have a box office clash with their movies Kaabil and Raees, respectively, releasing on the same date. Neither of the two sides is ready to shift the release date and Rakesh Roshan now revealed why they are not willing to avoid the clash.

Producer of Kaabil and Hrithik's father, Rakesh, said that apart from the fact that he had announced the release date of his film before the makers of Raees, other reason for sticking to the decision is ego. The producer agrees that the clash will divide the share of profits, but said that it has become an ego issue and he is confident about Kaabil.

"Yes, they eat into each other's profits. But the good film does well. Kaabil is the love story of a visually impaired boy and girl. It is set in Mumbai. You will see director Sanjay Gupta in a new light. He has done better than I had expected," Rakesh told Mid-Day when asked about the Raees-Kaabil clash affecting the collection.

When the daily asked why do not they budge and not clash, he said: "It becomes an ego issue and then no one wants to budge." The big clash on Jan. 26, 2017 had led fans of Hrithik and Shah Rukh start a Twitter war some time back.

Soon after Sanjay Gupta confirmed the release date of Kaabil, fans of SRK started tweeting that Raees would wash away Hrithik film. They also mocked the actor for the debacle of Mohenjo Daro at the box office. Nevertheless, with the producer himself admitting that Raees and Kaabil clash has gone onto becoming an ego issue, makers of Raees are also less likely to make any compromise.
