Sania Mirza and Martin Hingis have continued their dominance in the WTA doubles circuit, clinching the Sydney International title on Sunday by defeating Kristina Mladenovic and Caroline Garcia in the final of the competition. The score read 1-6, 7-5, 10-5 in favour of the Indo-Swiss pair.

The top seeds showed some strong character to come back from a set down to clinch their 30th game on a trot, which is an incredible feat. Sania and Hingis might not have been on top of their game in the first set as the third seeds played some quality tennis to win it.

The match was by no means an easy one for Sania and Hingis, who were tested to the hilt by Mladenovic and Garcia. Even in the second set, the third seeds were looking strong, but Sania and Hingis, who have made it a habit of winning titles, changed gears to win the set and later the game as well the super tie-breaker.

The Indo-Swiss pair, after winning such a close contest, should be even more confident when they battle it out for their first grand slam of 2016, Australian Open, which is set to kick-start on Monday.

The Sydney International title is their 11th win as a pair and the second title in 2016: They had won the Brisbane International last week.
