Samsung's first ever Tizen OS powered Z1 made its debut in India way back in January this year. Now the company is reportedly planning to launch its successor, dubbed as Z3, soon.

Technology community blog Tizen Café (via Twitter) has posted a snapshot of the purported Samsung Z3 smartphone placed side-by-side with Z1 series.

The snapshot confirms that the new phone will be much bigger in size compared to its predecessor Z1. Samsung Z3 seems like it has undergone some minor cosmetic changes as well.

It features curved rectangular shaped home button and feature AMOLED display, whereas Z1 houses square shaped capacitive button and come packed with subpar TFT PLS WVGA screen.

It is learnt that Samsung Z3 will sport 5.0-inch HD (1280x108p) display and run on the company's latest proprietary Tizen v3.0 OS backed by 1.3GHz Spreadtrum (SC7730S) quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM and 2600 mAh batter.

It is also expected to house an 8MP camera on the rear-side and 5MP snapper on the front. As of now, there is no word how much Samsung Z3 would cost, but based on the other devices having specifications similar to Z3, we believe the smartphone will be priced below Rs 10,000.

And if the sources of SamMobile are to be believed, Samsung Z3 will initially debut in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and other emerging markets.

In a related development, Samsung is hosting a launch event in India on 7 September. The company is expected to launch the new flagship phablet Galaxy Note 5 on Monday.
