Samsung has launched the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on Wednesday in India. The device is a bigger variant of Samsung's much appreciated flagship smartphone Galaxy S6 Edge.

Unlike its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ boasts of a 5.7-inch, 1440 x 2560 pixels, 518PPI Super AMOLED display. These include Steady Video, which provides Video Digital Image Stabilization on both the front and rear cameras for sharp, crisp video on-the-go, and the Video Collage Mode that allows users to record and edit short videos easily in various frames and effects.

The Galaxy S6 edge+ features 4K (UHD) video filming and introduces Live Broadcast, which lets users share live video in Full HD quality straight from the phone to any individual, group of contacts, or even the public through YouTube Live.

Anyone who receives the YouTube link from a Galaxy S6 edge+ user will be able to enjoy live stream video from his smartphone, tablet, PC or Smart TV with YouTube connectivity.

Along with the large display, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ also features slimmer bezels than the Galaxy S6 Edge. It also introduces a feature, 'Apps Edge', which lets users pick five apps to display on the curved bezel. Users can also access their favourite apps by swiping the edge display and Peoples Edge to communicate with user-picked contacts in an easier manner.

On the hardware side, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ retains the home baked 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 7420 SoC backed with 4GB RAM and is available in both 32GB and 64GB storage variants. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for added protection.

Powered by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery, the Galaxy S6 Edge+ features a 16MP + 5MP camera combination.

The Galaxy S6 edge+ is further upgraded to support SideSync, which offers both wireless and wired PC-smartphone integration for seamless connections across devices.

In addition, Samsung's Galaxy S6 edge+ features enhanced security features with KNOX Active Protection (built into devices / out of the box) and My KNOX (app with simple/fast setup) to further protect sensitive personal and work data.
