Consumer electronics giant Samsung is reportedly planning to launch new Galaxy S7 in multiple variants next year.

Before 2015, Samsung is known to launch flagship Galaxy S series with two chipset variants – one with Snapdragon and another with the company's proprietary Exynos series -- depending on the region's network infrastructure.

But this year, Samsung for the first time launched Galaxy S6 series with just one Exynos 7420 series CPU across the world. The company had ditched Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 over heating issues.

Later reports emerged that Samsung has patched things with Qualcomm and has agreed to use new 820 series processor, which is promised to deliver top-notch performance.

Just when the dust began to settle, a new report has surfaced online that Samsung will launching not two but three variants.

Samsung community blog SamMobile citing sources has claimed that Galaxy S7 bound for India will house Exynos 7422 series, whereas the one heading to US and Chinese market will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC (System on Chip).

Third Galaxy S7 variant, which are supposed to be sold in South Korea, Japan and European regions are said to come with company's new Exynos M1 (Mongoose) series based 8890 processor.

But that being said, it is too soon for us to assume this report to be true as the company is yet to initiate mass production. As per the latest reports, Samsung's Galaxy S7, internally known as 'Project Lucky' is still under development. So, there is a possibility of Samsung changing mind to launch three Galaxy S7 variants.

The other expected features of Galaxy S7 are QHD (2560x1440p) display, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt memory, 16mp camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) and a 5mp front snapper.

Numerous reports have hinted that Samsung might unveil the new device in January and release in February. Stay tuned for more updates.
