The release date of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may be months away but it has started gathering hype now that devices like the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, HTC One M9, Sony Xperia Z4 and others have being launched. Several specifications of the device have also been leaked, giving prospective buyers a rough idea of what it will be like when it actually hits the stores.

It was reported that Samsung might unveil its next-generation device, the Galaxy Note 5, in the month of September by the time the Note 4 completes a year in the market but a contradictory report has emerged hinting at an early arrival. Korean news site Daum has reported (translated via Google Translate) that the device could be released as early as August though not confirmed.

However, Samsung is very likely to announce its new device at the IFA in Berlin, following the footstep of its predecessors - Galaxy Note, Note 2, Note 3, Note 4, Note Edge – which were all unveiled at the event.

On specifications front, the Galaxy Note 5 could come with features similar to the recently released Galaxy S6 device, especially its design which has received tremendous positive response. Samsung's executive vice president Roh Tae-moon has hinted that the new Note device could come with a curved display.

"There is a possibility that Samsung will introduce the curved display for the Galaxy Note lineup," said Roh Tae-moon, according to Korea Herald (via G4Games).

There are conflicting reports on the processor that will be seen in the device. Some reports claimed that it will come with Snapdragon 810 processor or Exynos 7420 SoC processor. A report by Recode has claimed that "Qualcomm plans to have its next-generation Snapdragon 820 processor manufactured at Samsung's chip-making plants."

Meanwhile, Know Your Mobile has claimed that the Galaxy Note 5 will not be powered by Exynos 7420 SoC but by much stronger processor called high-density EPOP memory that "combines 3GB LPDDR3 DRAM, 32GB eMMC (embedded multi-media card) and a controller."

According to reports, the device is expected to sport a 5.9-inch display with Ultra HD screen resolution, houses a 16MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 3.7MP front snapper, and comes packed with 4GB RAM. It also expected to have features like scratch and dust resistant, retina scanner, fingerprint scanner, wireless charging, and water resistant.
