Samsung's rumored Galaxy E7 smartphone has been in the news often in recent months. After several leaked reports outlining the mid-range smartphone's impressive specs, there is a near-official confirmation with a new benchmark listing.

The Samsung Galaxy E7 smartphone was spotted on GFXBench database, confirming the device's rumored specifications. This also marks the beginning of a new E series in Samsung's extensive device portfolio.

Recently, a leaked report by SamMobile exclusively confirmed the full specifications of the Galaxy E7 and another smartphone in the E series, the Galaxy E5. There isn't much difference between the specs leaked previously by SamMobile and the ones confirmed by GFXBench.

According to the benchmark listing, the Samsung Galaxy E7 will sport a 5.5-inch 720p display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, Adreno 306 for graphics, 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage. The cameras on both sides are impressive for a mid-range phone like E7. The rear-facing camera has a 12-megapixel sensor and the front shooter gets 5 megapixels for video conferencing and selfies in Full HD quality.

The product listing also shows Android 4.4.4 instead of Android 5.0 Lollipop. But chances are the product will be updated to the latest Android version during launch. The Galaxy E7 will sport one SIM slot and standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC support.

There was no information on the battery size, but previous reports alleged the phone will be carrying 2,950mAh non-removable battery. The Galaxy E7 will likely be unveiled during the MWC 2015 event in March. Samsung will likely accompany the E7 with Galaxy E5.

The Galaxy E5 is a slightly lower-end smartphone than the E7 but there is not a lot of difference. As per the leaked specs, the Galaxy E5 will sport a 5-inch 720p display, 8MP rear camera, 2,300mAh battery and the rest is the same as the E7.
