Samsung has reportedly released the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop to the metal-clad mid-range smartphone Galaxy A7.

Technology blog SamMobile has confirmed that the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (build number: A700FDXXU1BOE6) has been made available to Galaxy A7 owners in Russia via Kies PC companion suite. The company is expected to commence the OTA (Over-The-Air) update roll-out process soon.

This new update is said to bring the new design language, Material Design, introducing more interactive user interface, animation graphics, replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime to bring improvement in performance-and-battery-life enhancement, new TouchWiz UI features, refurbished interface, lock-screen notification options and many more features.

The company has already released 5.0 Lollipop to Galaxy A3, so it won't be long before Samsung deploys OS update to the third metal-based Galaxy A series device A5.

How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Samsung Galaxy A7:

Step 1: Connect your phone [Galaxy A7] to PC via USB cable [Note: Before connecting the device, be sure to have installed Kies software in PC, if not, download, HERE]

Step 2: Then, phone will get recognised on the computer. Later click on the phone image (with model number; ex: SM-A700F, SM-A700FD, SM-A700K etc...) to the left of the screen, there you will find memory capacity and below that section, you can see 'Firmware information', under which you would have got the 'new firmware is available' notification and click the 'Firmware upgrade' button.

Step 3: Once done with selecting 'Firmware upgrade', you be asked to save or do backup of files stored in the phone to PC, then download update process takes-off.

Step 4: 'Download update' step is followed by installation of software.

Step 5: Once installation process is done, device will re-start.

Step 6: Then, disconnect the phone and again re-connect the handset to PC to confirm the device is upgraded to latest firmware.

Those who are not that tech savvy can wait for the OTA notifications.

Users can also check for OTA update manually by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check Now';
