Speculations regarding the lead actor of "Dhoom 4" have been doing the rounds for quite some time now.

"Dhoom" is one of the successful franchises of Yash Raj Films (YRF) and fans look forward to the sequels of the film. While Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra reprised the role, the antagonist changed in all the three installments.

The first installment featured John Abraham as the main antagonist, in "Dhoom 2" Hrithik Roshan played the role of antagonist and in "Dhoom 3" Aamir Khan played the role of a villain.

Each movie, starting from "Dhoom", was made on a grand scale and now the fourth installment is expected to be bigger and better. Thus, reports of a bigger star playing the lead character have been doing the rounds.

According to reports, YRF is keen on casting Salman Khan in the lead role. However, the production house has not approached the "Sultan" actor for the same yet.

"YRF is simultaneously working on two action films; one will be Thug starring Hrithik Roshan and the other one is Dhoom 4. There have been many brain storming sessions regarding the plot of Dhoom 4. However, despite many interesting ideas, they are yet to finalise on one. Everyone from the team is of the opinion that Salman Khan should be a part of Dhoom 4 and take the franchise forward. There are plans to approach Salman Khan once the script is locked," Catch News quoted a source as saying.

Previously, reports of Hrithik, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor or Shah Rukh Khan doing the film surfaced online. There were also reports that Shah Rukh's son Aryan will make his Bollywood debut with "Dhoom 4".

However, the production house is yet to make an official announcement regarding the same.
