Saithan movie review: Live audience response

Vijay Antony's latest movie Saithan has met with positive reviews. The actor's good performance and well-written story have impressed the cine-goers.

Saithan has been released on Friday, 1 December. Vijay Antony has collaborated with newcomer Pradeep Krishnamoorthy, a former associate of National Award winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran. Arundhati Nair plays the female lead in the flick, which has Charuhasan, Meera Krishnan, YG Mahendra, Siddhartha Shankar, Kamal Krishna and others are in the cast.

The psychological thriller, which has been dubbed into Telugu as Bethaludu, has Pradeep Kalipurayath's cinematography and Veera Senthil Raj's editing. Vijay Antony himself has composed the music. But his songs are not up to the mark although his background score is top notch. 

Vijay Antony plays the role of a software professional named Dinesh. Arundhati Nair will be seen as his wife named Aishwarya. The film takes off with the hero consulting a psychiatrist after he starts hearing a voice in his mind which forces him to kill a woman called Jayalakshmi. Further, the hero goes in search of the mysterious woman to Tanjore and a shock awaits him. What is Jayalakshmi's relationship with him? Is she a ghost or it is the creation of his mind? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

The movie has garnered positive reviews from the Tamil audience. Vijay Antony's neat performance along with his ability to pick good stories one after the other has come as a pleasant surprise to the viewers.

The engaging screenplay make the movie a worth-watching outing. Editing and art direction get full marks. The debutant director comes out with flying colours in his first outing. But the drawback lies in the second half where the last 20 minutes of Saithan loses the track. Overall, it is easily watchable once, say viewers. Find the people's response to the film below:
