Stylish Star Allu Arjun "S/O (Son of) Satyamurthy" (SOS) has received an overwhelming response at the worldwide box office on its opening day and it has beaten the first day collection records of Bunny's last outing "Race Gurram", "Temper" and "Gopala Gopala".

"S/O Satyamurthy", the second combo movie Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas after "Julayi", is one of the most-awaited Telugu movies of 2014. The film has been creating buzz in the media for several good reasons, ever since it was announced. Its music and promos generated lot of curiosity among the film goers. In addition, the makers had massive promotion for it.

Having bagged U/A certificate, "S/O Satyamurthy" also received lot of appreciation from the officials of the Censor Board. Considering the hype surrounding the film, the makers planned for a grand release and booked over 1400 screens across the globe. They also made advance booking available and the movie registered around 65% booking for its opening day on Thursday, 9 April.

In several places, the benefit shows of "S/O Satyamurthy" started as early as 4.00 am on Thursday and most of the theatres witnessed huge amount of footfalls in this special show. The movie registered an average of 85 percent to 95 percent in the regular morning shows. The film ran to packed to houses in many centres. It showed a decent growth in the later shows in all the regions across the globe.

"S/o Satyamurthy" has received fantastic response in multiplexes, where the occupancy is far better than in B and C centres. As per the early trends, the movie has collected approximately ₹8.50 crore at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office on the first day. It has become the biggest opener for Allu Arjun, beating the record of "Race Gurram", which had raked in Rs 6.89 crore on its opening day.

Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas' second combo movie has released in 164 screens in the USA and Canada and become the biggest Telugu release in these markets, beating the record of Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu". The movie has received very good response in the international markets as well as other north and south Indian centres. It has rakeed in ₹5 crore from its screening in all these areas.

Early trends show that "S/o Satyamurthy" has collected approximately ₹13.50 crore nett at the worldwide box office on the first day. The movie has become the biggest opener of the year 2015 at the worldwide box office, beating the records of previous releases Junior NTR's "Temper" and Pawan Kalyan-Venkatesh's "Gopala Gopala".

The collection figures of "S/o Satyamurthy" are estimated numbers based on early trends. The makers are yet to reveal the official numbers of its opening day business.
