Anushka Shetty's "Rudramadevi" (also spelled as Rudhramadevi) continued to keep cash register ringing at overseas box office in its third week, but failed to cross the $1-million mark in the US in 17 days.

Released in 130 screens in the US on 9 October, "Rudramadevi" received good response and collected $719,529 at the US box office in its first weekend. It smashed the opening weekend record of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", which has emerged as the dark horse, collecting more than $1 million in eight days.

After seeing the huge response, trade analysts had predicted that "Rudramadevi" would also cross the $1 million in collections by the end of its opening week, but the movie failed to do so. In its second week, it lost out many cinema halls to "Bruce Lee - The Fighter" and fell short of surpassing the million dollar mark.

In its third week, the screen count of "Rudramadevi" fell further due to new release "Kanche". The Gunasekhar-directed historical movie collected $17,607 from 13 screens at the US box office in its third weekend and its per-screen average was $1354, which is better than that of new Tamil release "10 Endrathukulla", which raked in $37,735 from 63 screens in its opening weekend.

"Rudramadevi" has collected a total of $9,35,983 at the US box office in 17 days. The movie needs $64,017 to surpass the $1-million mark. In its fourth week, the movie will clash with Kalyan Ram's "Sher", which is sure to reduce its screen count to nil. As such, the film may not be able to cross the magical mark.

However, the Tamil version of "Rudramadevi" has collected $989 (Rs 64,191) from 2 screens at the Canada box office in its opening weekend. Its Telugu version earned MYR 6,763 from 9 screens at the Malaysian box office in its second weekend, taking its 10-day total to MYR 109,630 (Rs 16.75 lakh).
