Officer movie review: Nagarjuna-RGV's film gets mixed response from audience

Director Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV's Telugu movie Officer featuring Akkineni Nagarjuna and Myra Sareen in the lead roles, has received mixed reviews and average ratings from the audience.

Officer is an action crime film, which has been written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, who has also co-produced it with Sudheer Chandra under his banner R Company Production. The movie has received a U/A certificate from the censor board and it has a runtime of 2.04 hours.

Officer movie story: The film is about Hyderabad based police officer Sivaji Ram (Nagarjuna), who is posted in Mumbai to handle the case of a corrupted cop called Pansari. Sivaji Ram succeeds in arresting Pansari, but the latter uses his influence in the court of law to prove himself to be innocent. Whats happens next forms the crux of the story.

Analysis: Ram Gopal Varma has claimed that Officer is based on the life of IAS offier KM Prasanna. The movie deals with a routine story, but a racy narration, deadly twists and raw action keep you engrossed in the film. However, the some predictabe scenes and slow paced narration in parts are the drawbacks of the movie, say the audience.

Performances: Akkineni Nagarjuna has delviered wonderful performance, which is the highlight of the movie. Myra Sareen has got good scope for acting and she has done justice to her role. Baby Kaavya, Feroz Abbasi, Sayaji Shinde, Ajay, Priyadarshi Pullikonda and Rajendra Prasad have done good job, say the audience.

Technical: Officer has decent production values and Ravi Shankar's background score, Bharat Vyas N and Rahul Penumatsa's camera work and action choreography are the attractions on the technical front, say the viewers.
