Judwaa 2 has been shrouded in speculation ever since it was first announced. One of the movie's writers, Sajid Samji, has now given some clarity on the project's progress.

He said that everyone is excited about the project, and added that it would be lovely to have Salman Khan on board for a cameo. However, nothing has been finalised yet.

"Everyone, including David sir and Sajid (Nadiadwala) bhai are really excited about the film. We are still writing and exploring ideas. Nothing is confirmed yet. But who wouldn't want bhaijaan in their film," Sajid told Mumbai Mirror.

Insiders, however, have shared a few more nuggets of information. While it was earlier being said that the film will begin in mid-2017, writer Sajid-Farhad have amped up the process and the team hopes to release Judwaa 2 by September next year. Apparently, over three drafts have been discussed among the makers.

"It's a commercial film being planned on a grand scale with beach locations in the Mediterranean. The script is generously peppered with tapori slang and a remix of the chartbuster 'Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara' from the original is in the works," a source told the daily, adding that a big attraction may be the special appearance that's being written for Salman, who has already agreed to step in as a 'Godfather-Gunda' to Varun's twins.

About the leading ladies of Judwaa 2
Even though the complete cast is yet to be announced, the names of four A-list actresses have been closely associated with the film. Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz and Jacqueline Fernandez are said to be part of Judwaa 2.

In other news, Varun is currently in Singapore shooting for Badrinath Ki Dulhania alongside Alia.
