Sources close to the actor-director duo have told International Business Times India that the rumours regarding the upcoming film are fake and added that the movie is in the pre-production stage and the makers will begin the shooting once the scripting is over. The director has also shared a photo of him with Prithviraj on Facebook that was taken Friday while he visited the actor at his residence to discuss about the movie "Karnan."

With the latest clarification on "Karnan," audience can expect another classic movie from the actor-director duo. The mega-budget bilingual project, to be made in Malayalam and Tamil, was launched Jan. 15 in Dubai. Produced under the banner of Kavya Films by Venu Kunnappilly, "Karnan" will be shot in Haridwar and Varanasi.

Controversy after State Award Declaration

Musician Ramesh Narayan had claimed that out of six songs he had composed for the romantic entertainer "Ennu Ninte Moideen" only one was included in the movie as Prithviraj had warned the filmmakers to do so. The only song "Sharathambaram" won him the State Award 2015 for Best Music Director and singer P Jayachandran bagged the Best Singer (male) award for lending his voice to the song.

"Prithviraj didn't want to include my songs in the movie. He informed it to Vimal. Still one of my songs was released, for which Jayachandran and me won the State Award. The song was included only because of the movie's producer, Suresh Raj. I have been a part of this industry for years, but this is the first time I have been insulted like this," Ramesh had told Manorama News.

Soon, Vimal came forward slamming the allegations of the musician. However, the statement was said to have lost Prithviraj's trust over Vimal that led to rumours of their parting ways.
