Renault Kwid's new AMT (automatic manual transmission) variant is expected to go on sale in India soon and ahead of its official arrival in the country, brochures of the new model of the Kwid have emerged online, painting a clear picture of what it's going to offer.

The Kwid AMT will be offered in the 1.0-litre engine variant and will be available only at the RxT (o) trim level. While the entry-level car will remain the same as the current model in terms of styling and design, the highlight of the Kwid AMT will be the Shift Control Dial, which will offer three driving modes – Reverse, Neutral and Drive. The Kwid AMT is expected to offer a claimed fuel efficiency of 24.04 kmpl, which is higher than the mileage of the 1.0 litre Kwid. The Kwid 1.0 litre delivers a fuel economy of 23.01kmpl.

The AMT unit in the Kwid will be called Easy-R, just like the Duster AMT, and the Kwid AMT will continue to feature Touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, USB, Bluetooth audio streaming and aux, remote keyless entry with central locking, front power windows, foldable backrest and passenger-side ORVMs.

The bookings for the Kwid AMT are open in the country and the company is expected to commence the delivery by mid-November. The new Kwid AMT will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 AMT and Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT in India. It is expected to get a price tag starting at Rs 4.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
