Looks like recall woes continue to haunt auto industry in India. While General Motors had to recall its executive sedan Cruze earlier this month, French auto maker Renault has now become the latest brand to recall its vehicles.

A new report of Economic Times says that Renault will take back 646 units of its Pulse hatchback and the diesel Scala sedan to workshops to fix a problem with its airbags, which could affect the safety of passengers. However, the company maintained that the recall is voluntary.

The airbags were manufactured by Takata in Japan, which was recently in news for its faulty airbags. The issue involved defective airbag that may deploy improperly in an accident or crash, shooting metal fragments into the vehicle cabin.

The latest recall of Renault is limited to the diesel Scala and both versions of Pulse, which were manufactured between September 2011 and July 2012.
