Whether you knew what K-Pop was or not, you rode an invisible horse back in 2012 when Psy's "Gangnam Style" was released on YouTube. While the 39-year-old has been absent from the Billboards for a while now, the music video still remains the most-watched video on YouTube with 39,710,232 hits and 71,291 likes up till now.

Now, the South Korean icon is hoping to repeat history with a new album that will be released on 1 December. He made the announcement for the album with a cartoon of himself doing in an "aegyo"- like pose in front of the message "PSY NEW ALBUM 2015 12.01".

It was also made official by his entertainment agency YG with the statement, "Psy said late last year... that he would 'go back to his roots and return with a new album', and anticipation is running high".

The untitled album follows PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1 EP that featured collaborations with K-Pop star G-Dragon of BIGBANG and the hip-hop duo Leessang, along with others. He, however, released singles "Gentleman" and "Hangover" in April 2013 and June 2014 respectively; both in collaboration with rapper Snoop Dogg.

Before all this international fame, however, Psy was already very popular in South Korea, and was known for the provocative lyrics in his songs, profanity-filled performances and the flow of South Korean liquor Soju. This song is said to take the singer back to his roots; meaning we might see a darker side of Psy than we are used to.

Do you think the new album will repeat the history of "Gangnam Style?'
No. Gangnam Style was the best he could have done.
Yes. It will be better
