Rajinikanth fans all across the nation are now in a state of ecstasy as the official motion poster of his new movie 'Petta' is released. The poster features Rajinikanth in the most stylish avatar, and it indicates that the film will be an in and out mass masala entertainer loaded with all the elements demanded to meet the needs of the Superstar's fans.
'Petta' marks the union of Rajinikanth with young filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. It should be noted that Karthik Subbaraj is one of the most talented filmmakers in Tamil Nadu, and he has already proved his mettle through the movies 'Jigarthanda','Iraivi' and 'Pizza'. All the previous movies directed by Karthik Subbaraj were pure classics, and this is for the first time that he is venturing into a mass masala flick.
As per close sources to the movie, 'Petta' will be an in and out action thriller set in the backdrop of mafia gang wars. Even though Rajinikanth portrayed the role of gangsters in his previous two movies 'Kabali' and 'Kaala', his fans were not that impressed due to lack of gallery pleasing elements.
Karthik Subbaraj, being an ardent fan of Rajinikanth has apparently added all the necessary elements to exploit the star power of Rajinikanth to the fullest, and audiences believe that the Superstar will appear in his full swag in 'Petta'.
Apart from Rajinikanth, 'Petta' also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Trisha, Simran and Guru Somasundaram in other prominent roles.
The shooting of the movie kickstarted three months ago, and it is now apparently progressing steadily in Madurai.
In the meantime, mega-director Shankar has announced that the official teaser of '2.0' will be released on September 13, 2018. The director also made it clear that the film will be released on November 29 in a record number of theaters.
