Rahul Gandhi, Salman Khan, Maria Sharapova, Kim Kardashian, Ali Bhatt, and many other celebrities have often become the victims of social media attacks by their fans, for all the wrong reasons.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan, the host of the popular controversial reality show "Bigg Boss" has been blamed for his biased attitude toward some contestants on the show. Recently, the superstar was criticised on social media platforms, after he supported Ali Quli Murza, who misbehaved with women in the "Bigg Boss" house. Earlier, Salman also supported Renee Dhyani on her decision not to take part in the luxury budget task. Even during the previous seasons of the show, the "Dabaang" actor faced flak from his fans on social media for his biases.

Maria Sharapova

Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova was attacked by the fans of Sachin Tendulkar on social media when she said she didn't know the cricket God. The controversy began when a reporter asked Sharapova, "Do you know who Sachin is?" to which she replied, "I don't." Many even used foul language and threatened the tennis star, and #whoismariasharapova hashtag began trending on Facebook and Twitter.

Rahul Gandhi

Social media was once flooded with jokes about the Indian National Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi soon after his first interview with Arnab Goswami, which was aired on TimesNow. The politician stressed on women empowerment, changes in the current system to most of Arnab's questions and became the butt of jokes. His comments went viral on social media, rather than making good headlines.

Deepika Padukone

The cleavage row of "Chennai Express" star and the actress' attack on a leading daily, which published her photo, made headlines for quite a long time. Even though many Bollywood celebs and her fans supported her, many were of the opinion that it was a publicity stunt by the "Ram-Leela" actress.

Hansika Motwani

Hansika Motwani found herself in the eye of a social media storm, after she cleared rumours on her film with Malayalam actor Dileep. "Ok clearing the air .. I ain't part of any Malayalam project :) #rumours", tweeted Hansika, following which the actress' Facebook page was flooded with verbal onslaught by Dileep fans. Some even used foul language and called her unworthy to be an actress and #whoishansika hashtag started trending on social media similar to the attack faced by Sharapova.

Gauahar Khan

The recent Gauahar Khan slapgate, which happened during the grand finale of singing reality show "India's Raw Star", sent shockwave across India. A 24-year-old man slapped the "Big Boss 7" winner for wearing a short skirt. Many of her colleagues and the film fraternity supported the actress, who was hurt and shocked after the incident. However, some others had a different take on the issue, and supported the accused saying that the actress deserved a slap.

Kamaal R Khan

Khan of Controversy, Kamaal R Khan, who is known for his outrageous comments on other celebs, has irked quite a lot of celebs. From King Khan Shah Rukh Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunny Leone, Mahesh Bhatt, Kapil Sharma, Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Nargis Fakhri and Ayushmann Khuranna among others, Kamaal has had verbal duels with many. Twitter and Facebook users, who often get outraged by KRK's comments against their superstars, attack the "Deshdrohi" actor for all reasons.
