The makers of "Ragini MMS 2", starring former porn star Sunny Leone, have released the first theatrical trailer of the film on adult websites as well.
The makers stated they have decided to promote the film in a completely different way and have placed it on several international adult sites. This is the first time that a trailer of a mainstream Indian film has been released on porn sites.
The film's producers clearly want to cash in on Leone's porn star status.
When Leone was asked about the trailer being released on X-rated sites, she told Mid-Day: "The promos of my film 'Ragini MMS 2' are super sexy and super scary. This is something my fans and lovers haven't seen before and it being released on those sites is a treat that I don't want them to miss out on."
Even Tanuj Garg, CEO of Balaji Telefilms, said that they launched the trailer on adult websites because Leone enjoys a huge viewership on those sites.
The film is a sequel to 2011's "Ragini MMS" and features Leone in the lead role. The film's trailer, which was released on 2 February, has gone viral on YouTube with more than 7 lakh views already.
The three-minute trailer begins from where the first film ended. The first 50 seconds describes the about the prequel film and the new film enlarges the plot further.
"Ragini MMS 2" is directed by Bhushan Patel and is slated to release on 21 March worldwide.
