Rasikan Rajesh, a popular radio jockey, was hacked to death early Tuesday, March 27, at his recording studio in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The incident took place at around 2 am when Rajesh, a former RED FM radio jockey, was sitting with his friend Kuttan. Reports said that unidentified assailants entered Metro Studio and attacked them.

Locals informed police and rushed them to a hospital in Parippally. Rajesh succumbed to his injuries, while Kuttan is undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital, The Times of India reported.

According to Pallikkal police, the assailants had reached the place in a red Maruti Swift car. The incident took place when the duo was loading their equipment into the studio after finishing a stage performance.

According to police, investigations are underway to find the suspects. The police also believe that a gang may be involved in the crime.

Rajesh was also a mimicry artist and a folk singer. The 36-year-old had also worked with RED FM and Voice of Kerala FM station in Doha, Qatar. He is survived by his wife and a son.
