The limbs and arms of two men have allegedly been chopped off at ruling Shiromani Akali Dal leader Shiv Lal Doda's farmhouse in Punjab's Fazilka district Abohar area. Doda is also reported to be a liquor baron.

The two men have been identified as 27-year-old Bhim Sen and Gurjant Singh Janta. While Bhim Sen succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, Janta is said to be in a critical condition.

A group of men led by Harry attacked both Sen and Janta, chopping off both legs and arms of the former and one limb and one arm of the latter.

"Both legs and arms of Sen were chopped off while an arm and a leg of Janta were severed," a police official said, adding, "Janta is in critical condition," PTI reported.

The police have booked 14 people, including Harry, on charges of murder. Harry and others are reportedly Doda's workers.

"Harry , Raja, Radheyshyam, Wazir, Gulab, Chhajju, Simran, Happy and six unidentified per sons have been booked under various sections, including Section 302 (murder), of the IPC in connection with murder of the youth," police said.

The situation in Abohar took a violent turn when villagers set Doda's liquor shops on fire, demanding registration of a murder case against him and his nephew Amit. The police have registered a case against Doda, nephew Amit and five accomplices; but, no one has been arrested as yet.

The incident resulted in a curfew-like situation in the town until Sunday. The situation in Abohar is normal now, according to Hindustan Times report.
