Ilayathalapathy Vijay's latest release "Puli" has got an overwhelming response from the international audience as his latest movie has done well at the overseas centres.

"Puli" was released in around 450 screens worldwide and the film's performance in countries like the US, Canada, UK, Australia and Malaysia have been highly impressive.

In the US, "Puli" has made a business of Rs 1.25 crore ($ 118,586) from 89 screens. It faced a lot of competition from Bollywood movie "Singh is Bling", which earned Rs 2.12 crore ($326,145) from 140 screens.

The next big centre for "Puli" is the UK, where the movie earned Rs 1.42 crore (£143,505) from 53 screens. Even here, Bollywood flick "Singh is Bling" has performed better than the Tamil movie. The Hindi flick made a business of Rs 1.91 crore (£193,290).

It is followed by Malaysia, where the movie collected Rs 1.21 crore (MYR 820,190) from 33 screens. It has to be noted that this centre has traditionally been a good market for Vijay's movies. Currently, there are a few movies like "Maya" and "Thani Oruvan" that are shown in limited screens.

"Puli" has raked in Rs 75.48 lakh ($83,294) from just 10 screens in Canada. This is quite an achievement for a Tamil movie as only a selected few movies have done well here. In recent times, only Vikram's "I" had made notable business .

The Tamil flick has collected Rs 76.97 crore (A$166,748) from 14 screens at the Australian centres.

As per the trade, the estimated total business made by "Puli" from international centres comes close to Rs 15 crore. The movie had raked in Rs 32+ crore in its first weekend in Tamil Nadu and about Rs 20 crore from rest of India.

"Puli" has been made with a budget of Rs 100+ crore. The movie, which has been directed by Chimbu Deven, has got mixed reviews and has to perform really well in the next seven days to make good profits.
