Contrary to what anyone would expect, Priyanka Chopra is actually thrilled to lose the National Award for Best Actress to Kangana Ranaut ("Queen").

The "Quantico" star took to Twitter to congratulate Vishal Bharadwaj for "Haider", which had a magnificent run at the awards, winning in five categories. Surprising everyone, she also praised Kangana's win.

"Queen ka real king!! #VikasBehl @fuhsephantom congratulations and so proud! What a journey and so well deserved!," she posted, and added: "I hate losing. But if I had to take a back seat to anyone this year it would be U #KanganaRanaut ! Congratulations!yay Queen!#SmallTownGirls."

Vikas Bahl's comedy-drama came at a time when Kangana featured in a bunch of big films alongside heavy-duty stars but couldn't make a mark. Having done only 8 films in her almost decade-long career, it's safe to say she does her research before signing on the dotted line.

"Somehow the power to say 'no' and the urge to do more artistic roles insinuated a new me within. But with Queen ushering in such huge accolades everywhere, I am really looking forward to everything here. Queen came and changed the way people perceived me. I was no more an arm candy and I was this one small town girl who is busy living life on her own terms," DNA quoted her as saying.

While Kangana is gearing up for "Tanu Weds Manu 2", in which she will be seen essaying a double role, Priyanka has been shuttling between the US and India to finish off her new TV series "Quantico". She will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do" and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" along with Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
