The real-life character of "Ennu Ninte Moideen" film, Kanchana, has come out strongly against its making and release.

The film, which stars Prithviraj and Parvathi in the lead, is the love story of Moideen and Kanchana from Mukkam in Kozhikode.

Kanchana claims that the film puts her and her family in bad light and that she would end up committing suicide if the film is released. According to Kanchana, director RS Vimal has made changes in the script and has cheated both her and her family. She also added that she had tried calling him over the phone, but the director apparently has avoided her calls.

"Ennu Ninte Moideen" is the love story of Moideen and Kanchana, who were from well-respected families in Mukkam, but with different religious backgrounds. They were friends from childhood and fell in love as they grew up. Though their parents were friends, they opposed their marriage because of religious differences. All their efforts to be together were in vain. Eventually, forced by the families, they parted their ways.

Disheartened Moideen turned to social work, then became a sports correspondent in Mathrubhumi newspaper and later produced Malayalam films in 70s and 80s. Meanwhile, Kanchana was pushed for marriage alliances by her family, but she stood strong on her decision of not getting married and even tried to attempt suicide.

Moideen met a tragic end in a boat mishap in River Irivanchippuzha in 1982. Kanchana who is a septuagenarian now is heading 'BP Moideen Seva Mandir' in the memory of her love. Kanchana, though not married to Moideen is still known as widow of Moideen.

The film also has the star cast of Lal, Lena, Sreejith Ravi, Bala, Tovino Thomas, Sudheesh, Sai Kumar, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Kalinga Sasi, Sija Rose and Kalaranjini in pivotal roles.

The cinematography of the film is handled by Jomon T John and editing is done by Mahesh Narayan. The music of the film is composed by Ramesh Narayan and M Jayachandran. The film will have seven songs and are sung by Shreya Ghoshal, Vijay Yesudas, Sujatha and Madhushree.

The film is produced by Suresh Raj and Binoy Shankarath under the banner of Newton Movies and is distributed by August Cinema Pvt Ltd.
