It's the beginning of the end for Freeform's teen drama Pretty Little Liars.

On Friday, Freeform announced that the show will return for the second half of Season 7 on April 18 2017 and the drama will pick up shortly after the events of episode 10 that saw Toby and Yvonne in a car crash. Will Toby die?

Shortly after the midseason finale aired, executive producer Marlene King revealed that the car crash is more of a metaphor. "The car crash really is sort of saying no one ever really does leave Rosewood, especially not from this group," she said, according to Zap2It. "It's really more a metaphor than anything else."

However, she did not confirm whether Toby lives.

As for his fiancée Yvonne, rumours indicate that she will be the one to go, allowing Spencer and Toby to get back together.

The summer finale of Pretty Little Liars went out with a bang with Spencer, who was revealed to be Mary Drake's secret daughter, getting shot by Jenna. Noel Kahn was killed, and Ali revealed she was pregnant and gave Emison fans a lot to hope for when she made out with Emily. The identity of the new big bad, aka Uber A, will also be revealed in the series finale.

As for the series finale, there will be a lot of reunions with a number of characters returning to Rosewood. One of them is Wren. There will also be a wedding or two in the two-hour special. The finale will follow a tell-all special that will feature Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse, and showrunner King.
