'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' 8-day box office collection: 'PRDP' records 4th best first week; becomes 12th highest grosser

Sooraj Barjatya's family drama "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has recorded the fourth best first week box office collection. Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" had an extended first week box office run.

Salman starrer earned Rs 172.82 crore in its extended first week at the domestic box office.

"#PremRatanDhanPayo Mon 13.62 cr, Tue 12.04 cr, Wed 10.02 cr, Thu 7.37 cr. Total: ₹ 172.82 cr. Hindi version. India biz. EXCELLENT!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" shattered the records of Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" to gain the fourth spot at the first week earnings list. "Dhoom 3" (Rs 188.9 crore), "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (Rs 184.62 crore) and "PK" (Rs 183.09 crore) take the top three spots in the list.

Salman's film is also the 12^th highest grosser of all time, beating the records of his own film "Dabangg" (Rs 155 crore).

To enter the top 10 list of Bollywood's highest grosser of all time, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" needs to beat "Bang Bang" (Rs 181.03 crore) and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (Rs 188.57 crore) lifetime box office collection.

Directed by Barjatya, the film features Salman and Sonam in lead roles, while Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Armaan Kohli, Swara Bhaskar and Deepak Dobriyal are the supporting casts.
