Adding to the daily twists and turns in the Pratyusha Banerjee's suicide case comes the latest news that the victim had apparently informed her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh in their last telephonic conversation about her plans to kill herself.

During a hearing on the case on Monday, the public prosecutor told the Bombay High Court that the "Balika Vadhu" actress and Rahul's last telephonic conversation on April 1, the day she committed suicide, suggests that the deceased had revealed her plans to commit suicide to her boyfriend, according to ANI.

Justice Mridula Bhatkar has decided to hear the three-minute call recording between Pratyusha and Rahul. The latter has been accused of assault and abetment of suicide in the case. In his last statement, Rahul had said that Pratyusha had drinking problems, and a forensic report also revealed that the actress was under the influence of alcohol at the time of her suicide.

Rahul had also said in his statement that the two had partied along with a common friend the entire night before Pratyusha killed herself. Rahul had said that the friend left in the morning, following which he went out to get some food while his girlfriend again started drinking. He had found Pratyusha hanging from a ceiling fan after he returned home, according to his statement.

Rahul had also revealed that Pratyusha was pregnant but she had undergone abortion after the couple mutually decided to abort the foetus as they were not married. Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has granted anticipatory bail to the accused and the next hearing will be held on May 4.
