Looks like actor-director Pratap Pothen has become controversy's favourite child in Kerala for being vocal about sensitive topics. The actor, who is very active on social media, often gets media attention for posting his opinions on different matters which court controversies.
Now, Pratap's latest Facebook post on Mammootty has also irked many fans of the megastar, following which Pratap has been receiving flak from social media users. In his post, Pratap called Mammootty the best actor in the world, followed by Dulquer Salmaan, who is on the second spot. Pratap even stated that since the megastar has the power to control many things in Kerala, he can even become the next Chief Minister for being a knowledgeable person.
"Mamooty is the best actor i've seen in the world.....there is no doubt about it ....his son is the second best .....thats what i hear and see ....ask any one ..robert di niro jack nickholson all of them say the same ....because not only that he is a great actor he is both aristocratic and rich ....what more does one want other than control .....jai ho mamooty you are the greatest ......you are what everyone wants to be .....you own it all .....acting cars .....houses and liquid money ......the power you have in kerala makes you numero uno ,,,,,and your knowledge about everything will make you the next chief minister .....if not the master of arts the man whose acting cannot be challenged [sic]," reads the Facebook post of Pratap.
However, netizens appeared confused about whether Pratap was speaking in favour of Mammootty or trying to be sarcastic with this statement. Nevertheless, it has paved way for many creative trolls and messages against the filmmaker where many called him a "jealous person who couldn't reach the heights of Mammootty despite being in the industry for nearly 37 years."
After the Facebook post on Mammootty went viral on social media, Pratap came up with an explanation regarding two other posts on his page.
