The teaser of Vishal's upcoming film "Poojai" has been released and from it one can expect the film to be a fast-paced masala entertainer.

Directed by Hari, "Poojai" will have Vishal playing the lead role. Shruti Haasan is paired opposite the actor for the first time. The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Sathyaraj, Radhikaa Sarathkumar, Soori, Mukesh Tiwari, Abhinaya, Kausalya, Manobala, Prathap Pothen, Sitara, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jayaprakash and Vaibhav Reddy among others.

Last month, the makers of "Poojai" had released a motion poster and it received decent response from fans. The action-packed teaser is also expected to impress the masses.

"Poojai" music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the film's audio launch is expected to happen soon.

Hari is popular for making commercial pot boilers and "Poojai" adds to the list. The director's last release "Singam 2", starring Suriya, turned out to be a huge hit at the box office. "Poojai" is also expected to perform well considering that the film will be targeting the mass audience.

The film is confirmed to release for Diwali in October. It will be locking horns with other biggies like Vijay's "Kaththi" and Shankar's "I," which are also slated to release for the festival period.

It might be difficult to grab good number of screens for "Poojai," as the makers of "Kaththi" and "I" will be looking for a big release worldwide. According to latest reports, "I" producer Aasacar Ravichandran is planning to release the film in 15,000 screens worldwide.

Both "Kaththi" and "I" are carrying huge pre-release buzz and the films might grab more screens than the Vishal starrer. It remains to be seen as to how "Poojai" fares while competing against the other two biggies.

Last Diwali, Vishal's "Pandiaya Naadu" released along with Ajith's "Arrambam" and Karthi's "All in All Azhaguraja." "Pandiya Naadu" was considered as an underdog of all the releases and despite the clash, the film emerged hugely successful at the box office.

It will be interesting to see if "Poojai" repeats the success of "Pandiya Naadu" at the box office. "Poojai" will be Vishal's second release of the year and the actor himself has produced the film under his Vishal Film Factory.
