Model Pooja Misrra has reportedly filed a defamation case against Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, seeking a compensation of Rs. 100 crore. Both Pooja and Sunny had appeared in "Bigg Boss 5."
The controversial model has alleged that Sunny has made defamatory remarks on her during certain interviews after "Bigg Boss 5," adding that she did it with the intention to malign her image, according to the Asian Age.
Sunny appeared as the host of "Splitsvilla" last season and one of the contestants in the reality show was reportedly called Pooja Misrra. The petitioner has alleged that this was done only to humiliate her on national television. Pooja even alleged that Sunny and her husband Daniel Weber had tried to sabotage her work, asking the court to take action against the "One Night Stand" actress under IPC sections 500 (defamation) and 120 (b) (conspiracy).
Pooja also said that Sunny's "defamatory" comments damaged her public reputation, causing her to break her fixed deposits, that had incurred her loss worth around Rs. 70 lakh, the report added. The case was called out before the Bombay High Court and Justice Naresh Patil adjourned the matter for further hearing. Hearing of the case will begin in June this year after the high court's summer vacations.
Earlier, Pooja had created a controversy by alleging that Sonakshi Sinha and her mother Poonam Sinha had instigated some men to molest her during an event, according to DNA. The report had said Pooja had alleged that her food during the event was laced with something that had made her dizzy, following which she was molested and looted off her valuables.
