Alison finally came clean to Hanna about her whereabouts on the night Mona died, and although Hanna did not believe a word her former friend said, it can be deduced that anyone but Alison is "A."

Alison was apparently waiting for Cyrus, from who she received a frantic call, at the time of Mona's murder. When Cyrus did not show up she realized "A" had something to do with the call, and it won't be long before she landed in trouble.

Also, Alison seems to have deduced that it won't be long before her friends too joined her in prison. Reiterating her innocence, Alison pleaded with Toby to help her out before they landed in jail, unless "A" decided to kill them first. Sadly, he, like the Liars, still believed that Alison was responsible for Mona's death, and was in no mood to believe anything she said.

However, Alison might have the last laugh as the episode concluded with her receiving a note that read, "Your friends will see you soon."

Meanwhile, the next episode titled "Over a Barrel" will see the Liars getting themselves into even more trouble when they try to keep secrets from their loved ones.

For instance, "Spencer searches for Mona's missing laptop with Caleb's help but where the search leads them could cross the 'Toby approved' line. Aria tries to get up the courage to come clean to Ezra about her lie when she gets diverted by a possible goose chase. And Hanna is stuck in the middle having to cover Ashley's secret when Pastor Ted returns with big news."

As for Emily, she will be struggling to move on from her split with Paige, and as per the official synopsis, she will have to put up with "Talia's annoying suggestions at work."

It remains to be seen if Paige is gone for good, but Emily is sure to get ample opportunities for a romance in the second half of the season.

"Pretty Little Liars" will air its next episode on 20 January at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
