Opener Shane Watson hit a fantastic 106-run knock as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 64 runs here on Friday to register their third win in four games in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Veteran Australian all-rounder Watson took just 51 deliveries to bring up his third IPL century, guided by nine boundaries and six sixes, to propel Chennai to a massive 204/5 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium which is the southern franchise's new home venue. In reply, Rajasthan were bowled out for 140 in 18.3 overs as they suffered second straight loss after winning the first two.

A brilliant all-round effort helped Kings XI Punjab beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 15 runs in an Indian Premier League match here on Thursday. First, Chris Gayle's unbeaten 104-run knock helped Punjab posted a mammoth 193/3 and then, its bowlers managed to restrict the visitors to 178/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing a massive target, Hyderabad never looked in contention as the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals. Hyderabad's in-form opener Shikhar Dhawan got injured on his first ball and from then, the required rate kept on increasing and none of the batsmen scored freely.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stretched their winning run to two games by registering a facile seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in an Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Wednesday. After restricting RR to 160/8, the two-time champions, who also won against Delhi Daredevils by 71 runs in their last game, rode on Robin Uthappa's 36-ball 48 (6x4, 2x6) to set up the chase and eventually win with seven balls to spare posting 163/3 in 18.5 overs. Skipper Dinesh Karthik (42 not out; 2x4, 2x6) and Nitish Rana (35 not out; 2x4, 1x6) combined for an unbroken 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket to ease past the line. Karthik hit a six off Ben Laughlin to secure the win in style.

Skipper Virat Kohli's unbeaten 92-run innings went in vain as Royal Challengers Bangalore lost by 46 runs to Mumbai Indians in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Tuesday. This is the first win for Mumbai in this edition of the cash-rich league. Kohli, who opened the innings with Quinton de Kock, remained unbeaten but could not guide his team to victory. In his 62-ball innings Kohli slammed seven boundaries and four sixes. Chasing a mammoth 214, Bangalore started off on a positive note, scoring 40 runs in 4.1 overs but after the fall of de Kock's wicket, the visitors never looked in contention, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Kolkata Knight Riders rode on Nitish Rana and Andre Russell's heroics to snap a two-game losing streak and register a 71-run victory over Delhi Daredevils in a lopsided Indian Premier League (IPL) clash at the Eden Gardens here on Monday. Put in by their celebrated former captain Gautam Gambhir, KKR piled up 200/9 as in-form Rana smashed a 35-ball 59 with Russell clobbering a 12-ball 44, that included six sixes off Mohammed Shami. In reply, Glenn Maxwell's 22-ball 47 and Rishabh Pant's 26-ball 43 went in vain, as Delhi were bundled out for 129 with mystery spinner Sunil Narine (3/18) and chinaman Kuldeep Yadav (3/32) plotting most of the damage.

Put in to bat, Punjab wasted their solid start but managed to post a challenging total of 197/7. In reply, Chennai batters failed. Apart from Ambati Rayudu (49) and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (79 not out), no other batsmen seemed comfortable in-front of Punjab's bowlers and went cheaply to lose the game.

The IPL returned to the Pink City after 2013 but rain played spoilsport for the major part, forcing D/L method to come into play after the hosts were 153/5 in 17.5 overs when it started drizzling.

Brilliant batting from opener Shikhar Dhawan (77 not out) helped Sunrisers Hyderabad outplay Rajasthan Royals by nine wickets in the fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Monday. Right from the start, Dhawan, who slammed 13 boundaries and one six, made his intentions clear. Though Hyderabad started poorly, losing their opener Wriddhiman Saha (5), but after that there was no looking back as Dhawan and skipper Kane Williamson (36 not out) guided it to a comfortable victory with over four overs remaining.
