It is safe to say that Wonder Woman is the best DCEU movie until now. After receiving great reviews, a stunning rating from Rotten Tomatoes and box office giving it a thumbs up, the Gal Gadot starrer is here to drive Warner Bros and DC towards the right direction.
While the Israeli actress will focus on the upcoming DCEU release Justice League, director Patty Jenkins has to jump over the November release to focus on the Wonder Woman sequel.

After almost four and a half decades, the comic character returned to screens and she has come back with a bang. While Wonder Woman the movie was a look back at where it all began, the studios will now focus on the present and future of the superheroine.
And it looks like the future of the franchise will be based in America. Jenkins told Entertainment Weekly, "The story will take place in the U.S., which I think is right. She's Wonder Woman. She's got to come to America. It's time."
She added, "I realized that Wonder Woman 2 is its own great movie. I made Wonder Woman. Now I want to make Wonder Woman 2. It's a beautiful story to tell, an important time to tell it and with people that I love."
The director spoke to CinemaBlend and hinted that unlike other superhero movies which are set in the present, Wonder Woman will go back in time. The female superhero will be seen against the 1900s background once again.
Jenkins was asked if she'd like Wonder Woman 2 set in the present or perhaps around the 1930s, Jenkins said: "I'm definitely planning something more interesting using that period of time. Definitely, it's the plan. I can't say what it is! But it's definitely right in the pocket of what you're talking about."
These confirmations give rise to questions about how Wonder Woman 2 could blend the 1900s and America, given that Wonder Woman was associated with the World War. said she doesn't want to just phone it in and work on projects just to show that she can do big movies. "I don't care about that at all. I just want to make great movies. And that could come from any direction. It might be a $10 million movie or it might be $200 million movie," she explained.

It would be interesting to see if the Wonder Woman sequel would tie loose ends from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, revealing what happened to the superheroine through her inactive years or will Jenkins take it off from the conclusion of Justice League, the way Aquaman is being dealt. Fans will have to wait and watch.
