Malayalam megastar Mammootty's "Pathemari", which was scheduled to be released on Thursday, has been postponed due to unknown reasons.

When contacted, trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai said that the release of the Mammootty starrer has been postponed to a later date in October.

Pathemari Release date Confirmed

Meanwhile, the film missed the Oscar nomination by a whisker to Marathi film "Court". It is understood that during the last round of the nomination race, the Marathi film outweighed the Mammootty starrer.

The other Indian films in the race were "Masaan", "Margarita with a Straw" and "Kaaka Muttai".
