Bollywood movie "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" and Hollywood flick "Jurassic World" released on 12 June and has evoked different kinds of responses at the Indian box office.

Directed by Mohit Suri, "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" starring Vidhya Balan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead has debuted at the box office on a slow note, whereas Hollywood movie "Jurassic World" has managed to get decent theatre occupancy on its opening day.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" has made a total of ₹5.04 crore on its first day.

According to trade sources, the theatre occupancy of "Hamari Aduri Kahani" was only 20 percent on its opening day. Meanwhile, "Jurassic World" has opened at the box office with decent theatre occupancy of 50 percent.

"Though Emraan Hashmi, who has suffered back to back nonstarters, desperately needs his new release to be a hit, reports suggest that HAK has opened on a dull note, with a meagre 20% occupancy rate during morning shows. On the other hand, JW that is the fourth in the Jurassic series has opened on a good note with 50 percent occupancy rates," reported Bollywood Hungama.

"Hamari Adhuri Kahani" has opened to below average reviews by critics and with the kind of response the movie has got on the opening day, it looks like Emraan Hashmi will continue his struggle at the box office. At the same time, fans are waiting to see if the movie will pick up in its first weekend.

The script of "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" is jointly written by Mahesh Bhatt and Shagufta Rafiq and is produced by Mahesh Bharr and Mukhesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films.
